As the door slid closed, the ASICs responsible for augmenting Tali's battlefield awareness took precedence and the image beyond the visor was transformed. Despite the near total darkness in the room, she saw an enhanced high-contrast image comprised of visible wavelengths gathered via the Starlight system combined with an infrared overlay. The HUD helpfully - but unnecessarily - highlighted the man lying on the cot on the other side of the room. Shepard cinched the riot armor breastplate snugly against the Cerberus uniform, pulling the straps tight but not so much that they restricted movement or breathing. Despite the flowery description of the colony, Freedom's Progress did not immediately impress in person. Aside from the fact that the squad had landed somewhere inside the frigid winter period, the main population center was made up of the dead gray concrete and low-slung prefab pod habitat litter that comprised most young colony worlds. Progress update, Merlin 4: Fail :-|

Not gonna make the "deadline" of 4/30 for the next installment.  Too much going on and not enough hours in the day!  Really nothing to cry about, just too busy...I could have worse problems, to be sure.  But I really want to get to the Arrival DLC soon ffs, mediocre or not. Of note, however, is that I don't expect the delay is going to be "months" or even "month" but a week or two at the outside.  With respect to the little arrangement I made with Colonel-Kovalyov (https://www.deviantart.com/colonel-kovalyov) I suppose this is still in the window, but I was really shooting for 4/30.  At one point I thought I was even going to be done early.

If you haven't read this yet (maybe you have, it's been out a while): http://social.bioware.com/721659/blog/4962/ - Noir Tali Is Noir You need to.  Thanks to FFN's Dark Triad for suggesting it to me!  Truly amazing writing, IMO.  These guys have a solid grasp and love for the ME universe and it shows in the clarity of detail and the very real emotion that surges from the text. Down the rabbit hole

I get hung up on things that aren't important.  Names of characters -- that's a huge one.  But other things too that probably don't matter too much.  Here's one. How do you designate a place as dangerous? I'll take a step back.  Hypothetical: I work for FabCo.  We make a device that is very useful but, if you do *this* with it, it'll take your arm off.  To avoid litigation we need to make sure people don't do that. 1) Write "DON'T DO THAT" on the box, on the item, in the manual. 2) Put large yellow triangles with exclamation points inside them, indicating NOT TO DO THAT.
